Mandy – Dec. 2011

Mandy is a 3 year-old Airedale Terrier Mix. She weighs about 65 lbs and could stand to lose a few pounds. She is working on her housetraining skills. Mandy is very well-behaved when her foster family leaves her home alone. She doesn’t get into anything and is there at the door to greet you when you come back. Just be careful–she likes to run outside.

Mandy responds to her name, except when she is playing a game of chase! She knows SIT, NO, COME, STOP (except in games of chase).

Mandy loves riding in her foster family’s minivan. She will sit wherever is available, but prefers to be in the driver’s seat! If she sits in one of the middle row seats, she likes the window down. If she is riding on the floor she rests her head on the console.

Mandy has been known to sleep in the bedrooms when the kids go to bed, but ends up coming downstairs and sleeping on the furry rug in front of the TV. She loves her sleep and she snores! She does like to take an afternoon nap in the downstairs bathroom (after a quick drink out of the toilet).

She hasn’t been around indoor cats, but she has been around Jack, the neighborhood cat, when she is outside. She doesn’t react to Jack at all.

She loves a good chew bone! She also likes bacon-wrapped sweet potato or chicken treats. If she sees you at the table or in the kitchen she will sit next to you, hoping for a table food treat.

Mandy is a sweet, low-key, loveable dog who hardly ever barks. She loves being brushed. She loves being hugged.
